   Wheat...West coast cash wheat bids found some footing on the bounce
across the futures complex on Thursday, leaving prices 15 to 35 cents
below week-ago levels. White wheat fared better than the protein wheats,
as basis strengthened against Chicago. Club wheat premiums improved by
15 cents over white wheat this week, as current hot and dry conditions
pose a threat to spring club wheat production zones in Washington. 
   Weekly Sales...USDA reported weekly export demand for U.S. wheat was
right in-line with the prior week and right at the four-week average of
10.5 million bushels. Total commitments of 254 million bushels set 27%
behind a year ago and 12% below average. Hard red spring registered 3.7
million bushels and with 76 million in commitments, sets 21% behind a
year ago and 12% below the five-year average pace. Hard red winter saw
2.7 million bushels in new sales and with 62 million in commitments is
running 54% behind a year ago and 28% below average. White wheat booked
2.3 million bushels and commitments of 68 million set 14% ahead of last
year at this time and 18% above average. Indonesia and the Philippines
were the top buyers for the week.
